WHAT TO EXPECT?

At First Assembly Kids we are dedicated to cultivating a space where your child can learn about Jesus in an exciting way.

We want to equip the next generation with the skills they need to share the good news of Jesus to others. They are the generation that God will continue to use in a world still in need of Him.

On Sunday, you will check your kids into our system to ensure their safety and send them to their classrooms with our amazing, background-checked leaders. On your first visit, check-in will take about 5-8 minutes. Your child/children will be in the system for future visits, and check-in will only take 1-3 minutes.

Nursery Volunteers

Our dedicated nursery volunteers and leaders rotate every Sunday to ensure a consistent and caring environment for the children. Each leader is thoroughly background-checked to guarantee the safety and well-being of our youngest attendees. They were specifically chosen to volunteer because they have a genuine love for kids and are passionate about providing a nurturing experience.

 FAQs

  • Should your child have some separation anxiety or become distressed and we are unable to calm them down, you will receive a text asking you to pick them up in their classroom.

  • We understand that families of children with autism & other needs are statistically less likely to attend church—studies show an 84% decrease in attendance compared to families without a child with additional needs. However, at our church, we believe every child is wonderfully made and deserves a place to belong. Our team has experience supporting children with autism and other developmental differences, and our Kids Ministry provides a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where all children can learn, grow, and experience God’s love.

We maintain a friendly environment without flashing lights, and we offer fidget toys, predictable schedules, and a supportive atmosphere to help every child feel comfortable and engaged. Parents are encouraged to bring anything that helps their child feel safe and secure (as long as the item doesn’t make loud noises). Parents are welcome to bring things such as weighted lap pads, soft comfort items, noise-reducing headphones, or sunglasses.

  • Yes! Our Mother’s Room is a fully equipped space where you can feed, change, and soothe your little one. You can view our service via live stream, which you can access on your phone via the QR code on the side table. We ask that you vacate the room as soon as you are finished so other Mamas can access it as needed.

  • They will be provided with a snack without their allergens, or if it makes you more comfortable, your child can bring their own snacks.

  • Yes! First Assembly Kids services are always free. It is our pleasure to care for your children while you attend church!

  • It is vitally important to us that your child remains safe and healthy at all times in our programs. In the interests of other children, please do not bring a sick child to the program. A child who has experienced vomiting or diarrhea will not be permitted to attend our kid’s programs until they have been clear of symptoms for a minimum of 48 hours. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation on this matter.

  • We regard the safety of children as our highest priority. All First Assembly Kids leaders have to be 18 years or older, and jr. volunteers must be 13 years or older. All leaders (ages 18+) must complete a Volunteer Application Form and apply for a Background Check (that includes all criminal history). Each applicant's background is carefully checked to ensure they are suitable for working with children. Our leaders and volunteers (ages 13+) also receive ongoing training in child safety procedures. As an added safety measure, no leader or volunteer can be alone with a child, and all teens must have a leader who is at least 18 years old with them. We also have cameras recording to ensure your child’s safety.
